Now that I have caught you up by pictures I will try and keep you all up on our family. Besides work, school, and visiting family we don't do much. We did join a martial arts boot camp for the past month. So we have been pretty sore while we were consistent. As the new year approaches we are just thankful for our wonderful family and friends and feel very blessed!

my new resolution this year is to start keeping up our blog:) I am horrible! Reed's backup plan turned into his real plan as things evolved. He is now halfway through his masters and is deciding on PhD programs, maybe here in Boise next fall, or off somewhere in a year and a half. Life is keeping us busy. Reed is working a full time job at the lab at BSU, in school full time, and teaches part time on the side for his piano/music comp courses. I am still working full time at Impact. We got a puppy for me to train on as we wait for a baby to come hopefully in 2011:)

Reed and I have not been the best at updates. This winter season has been been busy with applications, interviews, school, and work for us. Reed has been interviewing for MD/PhD schools and we are waiting to hear where he will go. At the moment it is between Michigan, Utah, or staying in Boise. In the meantime he started his combined masters in Bio-physics,Biology, and chemistry as his backup plan:) Needless to say he keeps himself busy. He is in the Elders Quorum Presidency at church and I am still in the Primary presidency. Step classes has become my new love.
In September we went out to visit Terish and the boys while Steve was still in Afganistan. At thanksgiving we were back our there with my folks, Steph, and Steve home with his family. Then we were back for Christmas here with Gena and the day after went to California for a week with my folks & Steph, Gena, Katie, and Melanie. It was an eventful trip and the rest is back to work as normal!

Life's little Lessons

I have been following a couple blogs lately. Janae Whites Blog as she fights for her Life with Brain cancer touches me everyday I read. She has been my young womens' leader, seminary teacher, and friend. My thoughts often go to her daughter Bergan. Bergan was the only Laurel to graduate with me in High School. Sometimes I felt like we were the only "Mormons" in Eastmont. I remember the love her family had and what it taught me. I think I often looked for good loving couples to hope for. To see a couple still in love after 25 years. That was and is hard to find these days. The white family has always been an example to me! It has been nice to have bergan in Boise and see her once in awhile and have someone from my childhood home to have lunch with. Reed's grandma is doing well!!! We went to Utah to visit her and family! I got to see Bonnie's perfect little boy and it was nice to see Reed's family! All is well with us, just busy with med school stuff, work, and church! Reed got back from his week San Francisco trip today, it is nice to have him home again!!!!!!!!! Reed starts back up with Grad school on Monday, and I am trying to get as much done before we head to Trish and the boys in Va over Labor day weekend!

Birthday update

Reed is a sweet husband. Today is my 26th birthday. Last night Reed made dinner (Spaghetti & garlic Bread) for Gena, Melanie, the Thomas's and us. It was amazing, when Reed cooks it is awesome. If only I could get him to do it more than a couple times a year:) Anyway, thank to all my amazing family and friends for the Birthday Wishes.

We found out Saturday that Grandma (Reed's Grandma) has a massive blood clot and has a 50 50 change of making it. We are still waiting to here if she will be ok. We were planning on going down to Salt Lake anyway this weekend for her 80th birthday, hopefully she will be coming home from the hospital then!!!!! My mom is recovering from her surgery, they got all the masses and she is home "bored" she says. Gena is still recovering from her car accident and looking for a new car as she battles the insurance companies. Reed and I are really busy with work and med school applications. Tomarrow Reed gets his scopre back from the MCAT! Anyway, we are well, just trying to keep up with our busy lives!!!!

A Busy Week

This week has been busy for Reed as he struggles to work on MD/PHD applications and keep up with work. My work has been busy this week with Bosie Distribution in full swing. Mom (Debbie) is doing well we are anxiously awaiting her surgery results today.
Last night Gena got into a car accident (my mother in-law) and we spent most the evening in the emergency room. She is ok just pretty banged up with a totaled car. We will be staying the weekend with her and helping out. Other that that life is pretty much up to usual!

When Reed, Melanie, and I went to the zoo last valentine's day we saw this sad little animal pressed up against the glass. The zoo keeper overheard us and came up and told us her story. Apparently she was about 15 and her new mate the male was less than 2 years old. The keeper said she desperately wanted kids but that her mate was still to young to father them, and she was reaching old age and next year would probably be too late. So I took this sad little picture.

Well, that has caught you all up to us as of the end of May 2009:) KJ has been urging us to start a blog, and after Steph Started hers for Jerulsulam I figured we better get on in. We got back from our 12 day vacation to Mexico this week. We had a blast in Cancun, and then down in the Riviera Maya with Marcia and Kim. We will post pictures from the trip soon!

Welcome to Brooke and Reed Jacob's Blog!! We have been meaning to start one for a long time. I will publish some pictures of our Wedding last March 21st, 2008, and some trips we have taken since then. Reed is busily getting ready to take the MCat and apply for the MD-PHD programs this summer while still working his 3 jobs:) I am still working at Imapct Directories the Phone Book Company and that and the primary at church keep me busy:)
